Winter squashes are delicious and healthy, but can be somewhat challenging to grow. Because winter squashes grow as vines, significant space is needed and some support may be required.

 Winter Squash  'Blue Hubbard'  

This extra large, heavy yielding New England strain has long been a favorite. An attractive blue-gray color, rough and rugged, it grows on a large vine. The flesh is deep yellow with good flavor and texture. Stores well for 3-4 months.

Ready to Harvest from Transplanting: 110 Days


 Winter Squash  'Burgess Buttercup'    

One of the highest quality squashes sold in the Northeast. Extra rich and sweet in flavor, the deep orange flesh is firm and smooth. The blocky 6-8" wide x 3-4" long dark green fruit have a small gray "button" at the blossom end and grow on a full vine. This Burgess strain is the very best Buttercup to grow for long-term storage.

 Winter Squash  'Puritan Butternut'    

This outstanding winter squash is easy to grow, bearing a prolific crop of delicious, home garden size fruit of vigorous vines.  The flesh is rich orange, thick, sweet and excellent tasting.  Delicious in pies or cut in serving size pieces and baked, steamed, boiled, or mashed.  Has excellent storage quality.
